Pallets for Ukraine began as a community project based in Denver, Colorado following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Our intention was to support the Ukrainian people and military for as long as they needed our help. Two and a half years later we are still here and still doing everything we can to support the brave Ukrainians fighting for their freedom and democracy.
We continue to raise money specifically for the 1st Separate Tank Brigade unit from Chernihiv. So far we have made over $1000 in donations to this unit and helped facilitate the purchase of kevlar helmets, walkie-talkie batteries, rifle scopes, and consumer-grade UAVs.
We are currently fundraising for anti-drone equipment.
Pallets for Ukraine is a family project started by a Grandpa, Son, and Granddaughter in Denver, Colorado. The name came from our original construction method: We collected pallets, disassembled them, and turned them into Ukrainian flag yard signs. The signs are then sold with 100% of the money raised being donated to charitable organizations and military units in Ukraine. While we no longer use pallets for the construction of our signs, they remain the core vehicle for of our fundraising. To date we have produced over 1000 yard signs and raised over $28,000 USD. Our flags, as well as our apparel, have even made it all the way to the front!
We have funneled thousands of dollars of contributions to NGOs large and small including significant donations to International Rescue Committee, Project Dynamo, and United24. While we believe this support is critical, especially at the outset of the war, our focus has pivoted away from admin-heavy organizations to direct-support of citizens and fighters in Ukraine.
We (and many others) discovered a unique way to funnel money to those that needed it quickly: AirBNB. We booked thousands of dollars in rooms without the intention of traveling to Ukraine. The hosts on the other end were able to access the funds quickly and use it to support the military or pay for their own personal needs.
We have developed relationships with friends of the "1st Tankoi" based in Chernihiv. They request specific items and we do our best to help provide the funds to purchase them. We have unofficially adopted "Gennady and the cats" from this brave unit and do everything we can to help support them as they fight at the front. As of Summer 2024 this unit is the primary recipient of our fundraising.
We are not a non-profit. 100% of the funds we raise go to supporting the cause, however, we chose to not seek non-profit status because of the complexities and administrative work involved. If you feel more comfortable supporting a 501(c)3 non-profit, we encourage you to do so! Contact us and we will happily recommend organizations we trust.
The best way to help is to purchase a sign! We ask for a $25 donation for each sign, but any amount is greatly appreciated. Please use the form below.
